Well it's July, and hard to believe, we have finally arrived in Australia.
We flew into Sydney and spent a few days driving up to the Sunshine Coast. Had a good trip from Sydney, we stayed a night at Port Macquarie along the way as it looked so nice, also made another stop at Coffs Harbour the next day for lunch - we would love to go back there and spend a bit more time. Ended up getting into the Sunshine Coast on Saturday night (a day earlier than expected), we drove for 9 hrs with 2 or 3 stops along the way, the kids were fantastic, not once did they ask "are we there yet", so we just kept driving. The weather on the Sunshine Coast is definitely warmer than Sydney, it is gorgeous here, summer clothes weather, probably a bit like our summer really, we have had three perfect days, the boys have been splashing about on the steps of the pool of the house that we are staying in for a month.
We met up with Jo off the internet yesterday, for lunch with a few of her neighbours that had also recently moved, so that was nice, the kids all got to play together at the park while we had a bbq lunch. I rang about our furniture today, and there have been 'delays'!!! Stuff isn't arriving into Brisbane until about the 23rd July now, and then it will be at least 2 weeks after that until we get our stuff, never mind it's lovely here where we are staying, but is further away than what we will probably eventually live, I think we will probably end up somewhere around Currimundi, as we drove past a school around there by chance yesterday (not one I had even really looked at on the net), and it looks really nice, I went in today, but only to reception, as it was teachers only day, so will have to make an appointment, it has just over 1000 kids, but has a really community feel to it.
Went to a couple of car yards the other day, and Grant ended up bringing one back with the sales guy for me to look at, looks like we might be buying it - a Nissan Pathfinder, really nice vehicle in a silver colour, they are going to get the windows tinted for us.
Spent a couple of hours at Kings Beach yesterday - wow there are so many faboulous beaches around here, what a great lifestyle for the kids. I hear it was -4 back home yesterday morning - can't say we're missing the cold weather.
